What is a process server?

What is a process server Lawyer, Houston, Texas

In Texas, after you file a divorce case, you have to notify the other party and provide him/her with a copy of the Original Petition for Divorce.

If the both parties agree to the divorce, a copy of the Original Petition for Divorce can be delivered to the opposing party by the party that filed the divorce. However, if the couple does not agree to the divorce, the court will require the delivery of the document by a Sheriff/Constable and/or private process server.

The cost of using a Sheriff/Constable is usually $75.00 (https://www2.harriscountytx.gov/constablefees.aspx) and the cost of using a private process server is usually $125.00.
