10/11/2019 – Attorney Nguyen, Sr. Paralegal Stephanie Salgado, and Paralegal Rebeckah Holder, were requested to travel to Weslaco, Texas to visit a Customs and Border Patrol Detention Facility that housed sick, detained, migrant children. During our time at the detention facility, the legal team interviewed detainees to ensure that their basic human rights were not violated and that their living conditions were adequately met under the Flores Settlement Agreement, which outlines the standards for the detention and release of unaccompanied minors taken into custody. The team interviewed 6 families.

9/25/2019 – Attorney Nguyen received an email from a Legal Assistance Program – Coordinator from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs to participate in The Hague Convention Attorney Network and to assist with cases involving the U.S. Central Authority for The Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. Attorney Nguyen agreed to be a part of the all-volunteer network.
9/3/2019 – Attorney Nguyen, Sr. Paralegal Stephanie Salgado, Paralegal Rebeckah Holder, Legal Assistant Tracy Vu were guests and sponsors at the 6th Annual Banh Mi Cook-off Fundraiser.
